Evelyn Wines doesn’t consider herself a lucky person so she got the ‘‘shock of my life’’ when she was called out as the Deniliquin RSL Club’s $6900 membership draw winner last Friday night.
Evelyn has been a Friday night RSL regular for a long time, but she didn’t think her loyalty would ever pay off.
When her membership number was announced, she could hardly believe it.
"I was absolutely shocked,’’ she said.
‘‘I was sitting down and my stomach started to go all funny. I thought ‘this can’t be real’.

Modern surroundings for Deniliquin RSL Club diners
After three weeks of renovations, the Deniliquin RSL Club has launched its new look brasserie, and implemented a new menu as well.
The renovated Deniliquin RSL Club brasserie has officially opened.
Ready ahead of the scheduled finish date, the modern restaurant opened earlier this week.
Network Constructions took three weeks to complete the work, which has generated a lot of interest from club members and guests.

Narelle wins $4800 at the Deniliquin RSL
Narelle Ross was more than a little shocked when her name was called in the Deniliquin RSL Club membership draw on Friday night.
Narelle is a Friday night regular and was sitting in the coffee shop, 20m from the collection point, when the winning number was called.
She pulled out her card, looked at it and then said "I think that's me".
RSL Club supervisor Ruth Govett had to check the number and assure Narelle she had won before the good news actually sank in.
Excited and shocked by the win, Narelle went into a mild hysteria.
